COLLECTED MAXIMALISM

Interiors · Heritage · Layered Living

Collected Maximalism is a founder-led editorial platform exploring layered interiors, heritage design, and expressive living through a deeply considered and visually immersive lens.

Collected maximalism living room with layered decor, colorful art, vintage textures, books, and curated styling in a warm, artistic interior space

The platform examines how spaces evolve through time, collecting objects, textures, and influences that reflect memory, culture, and personal identity. Rather than excess, it positions maximalism as intention — where pattern, material, and composition are thoughtfully balanced to create interiors that feel rich, storied, and enduring.

Editorial storytelling focuses on European influences, antique-driven spaces, dark academia interiors, and culturally layered homes, blending historical reference with contemporary interpretation. Content moves between visual immersion and structured insight, offering both inspiration and a deeper understanding of how layered interiors are composed.

The platform emphasises atmosphere, narrative, and material depth — favouring spaces that feel lived-in, collected, and intellectually grounded rather than styled for immediacy or trend.

Quiet Luxury Calm is a founder-led interiors journal devoted to understated luxury, emotional ease, and timeless living.

Through restrained visual storytelling, the platform explores how calm, quality, and intention shape spaces that feel refined without excess. Rather than prescribing a single aesthetic, it examines diverse design languages — from warm minimalism and wabi-sabi to rustic modern and classic European sensibilities — united by restraint, materiality, and longevity.

The editorial lens emphasises light, texture, proportion, and atmosphere, favouring spaces that feel lived-in, human, and quietly confident. Alongside visual storytelling, the journal curates enduring home essentials selected for comfort and longevity rather than trend-driven consumption.

FAILING IT UP

Failing It Up is a founder-led editorial initiative exploring failure, leadership, and identity through long-form storytelling and reflective dialogue.

The project exists as a periodic, purpose-led body of work examining growth through lived experience rather than traditional success narratives.

Failing It Up is an independent editorial initiative founded by Bhawana Verma, exploring failure, resilience, leadership, and identity through long-form conversations and storytelling.

What began as intimate discussions around failure evolved into a broader inquiry into how people navigate transition, redirection, and growth. The initiative brings together voices from business, design, the arts, entrepreneurship, and creative leadership to examine how lived experience shapes perspective and purpose.

At its core, Failing It Up is rooted in the belief that challenge and uncertainty are not detours, but formative teachers — shaping clarity, courage, and identity over time.

The project prioritises depth over speed, favouring reflective dialogue and meaningful storytelling over performative narratives or constant production.

Over the years, Failing It Up has taken multiple forms — including recorded conversations, editorial interviews, and visual storytelling — and now exists as an archival and periodic editorial initiative, returning intentionally when there is clarity and substance to share.

Today, Failing It Up informs Bhawana Verma’s broader work in narrative, perception, leadership, and strategic clarity — serving as a foundational body of thought rather than a continuous content platform.

Founder & Creative Director: Bhawana Verma
She conceived and led Failing It Up as an independent editorial initiative, guiding its narrative direction, conversations, and long-form approach since its inception.

Commercial Campaigns & Visual Work

Beauty · Jewellery · Editorial & Film

Bhawana Verma’s commercial work spans beauty, jewellery, and fashion-led visual storytelling, with a particular focus on beauty-driven jewellery campaigns and editorials.

Her approach centres on emotion, refinement, and narrative-led aesthetics — creating campaigns that highlight jewellery not as product alone, but as an extension of identity, presence, and personal expression.

She has led and collaborated on jewellery editorials, beauty-focused campaigns, and advertising films for jewellery brands and jewellers, bringing together visual direction, mood, and storytelling to create work that feels elevated, intentional, and culturally resonant.

Across still imagery and film, the work emphasises:

Abstract Studies

Personal visual work

A contained series of abstract visual studies created during a period of deep inner transition.

This work focuses on atmosphere rather than form — exploring color, movement, and spatial emotion as a way of capturing states of perception beyond the literal.

While personal in origin, this body of work informs my sensitivity to mood, light, and composition, and continues to influence my visual approach across editorial and commercial projects.
